FREA is managed by an all-volunteer staff dedicated to providing our members and the general public with the best possible assistance with renewable energy education, advocacy, and networking opportunities. Below are some of those volunteers and their contributions:
Dr. Robert Stonerock, Jr.
Dr. Stonerock, FREA’s current board president, represents the organization’s principles and goals along side other Florida renewable energy advocacy groups in the ongoing work to establish a unified and influential voice for the Florida renewable energy industry. Striving to build and grow a strong coalition with like-minded organizations, Dr. Stonerock works to promote FREA’s objective for a green economy in Florida that will eventually lead to a full transition to clean, renewable energy.
Craig Williams
As FREA’s executive director, Craig organizes the annual Central Florida Solar Tour, assists in seminar development, provides management of FREA events, and oversees design and content of the website. He also participates in FREA’s ongoing advocacy work to promote state and local policies that would aid the development of clean energy in Florida.
John Sojat
John provides advocacy assistance for FREA and its state policy objectives in Tallahassee with the Legislature and Governor’s Office. He comes to his new volunteer work from the Florida Department of Education where he worked on legislative affairs.
Samuel Kendall
Sam diligently scours the web each month to find pertinent news stories affecting Florida’s developing clean energy industry. You’ll find the results in FREA’s monthly news digest, SunState News, or in our ongoing blog, Solar State Solutions.
Geralyn Piegay
Geralyn tirelessly provides bookkeeping assistance for FREA’s financial and membership records as well as support service for the annual Solar Tour, Renewable Energy Expo, and Annual Members Meeting.
